Artist Statement
My current work has been exploring the idea of process. I am interested in the texture of bubble wrap, styrofoam, string and corrugated cardboard. My process involves creating a duplicate of these materials and textures in clay. The juxtaposition of these soft manufactured materials to the stiffness of clay produced from my hands interests me along with the viewer’s response.
How the process progresses, its function and the interaction with the viewer are important to me and determine the final look and feel of the work. From my biology background there are so many processes to study that the ceramic work I complete complements that research.

Holiday Sale
Well the holiday sale has been set and the guest artist has been decided on. Lauren Vanni will be joining me for my first holiday sale and open studio.
Lauren and I go back to working on our Master's degree at the University of Delaware. For part of our time we had shared a studio and worked together to make the University Pottery sale a success. We would like to carry on that tradition now that we have moved beyond and are advancing in our careers.
Lauren is now an assistant professor at Cecil County Community College in the art department.
Now it is time to keep up the progress in the studio. Hope to see you all at the sale.

First post
I have decided to try blogging to see what all the fuss is about and to hopefully keep people better updated on my art world happenings.
I have just finished up a busy few months with several gallery shows across Delaware. I would like to thank the Biggs Museum in Dover, The Mezzanine Gallery in Wilmington and The CCArts in Yorklyn for the opportunity to show in their gallery spaces. The work was well recieved and has returned home. Now it is time to gear up for a busy holiday season.
Please check back here for updates on my Holiday Open Studio Sale December 4th,2010. I am finalizing guest artists at this time.
